This event has finished.

We finish our series of Sunday matinees at Silver Screen with Powell and Pressburger’s Oscar-winning classic fantasy melodrama. A young ballerina is torn between the demands of love and art when her magic shoes compel her to dance. Spellbinding, disturbing, breathtaking!

The film was introduced by Phil Foxwood of Golden Arrow and Rhidian Davis of the BFI, and was preceded by a short 3 minute film featuring dancer Yos Clark. The main feature was followed by a 30 minute audience discussion. After the discussion, attendees were invited to join the Folkestone Living Advent Calendar dance event at Market Square behind the cinema from 6pm onwards.

This event is screening as part of the Powell + Pressburger film season taking place from October to December across venues in Folkestone.  Find out more at PPFolkestone.co.uk.
