A new 4K restoration of Powell & Pressburger’s much-loved romantic comedy, from the BFI National Archive.

One of Powell and Pressburger’s best-loved movies, – a romantic comedy about a headstrong young woman who travels to the bleak and moody Scottish Hebrides to marry a rich lord. Stranded by stormy weather, she meets a handsome naval officer who threatens to thwart her carefully laid-out life plans!

The film was preceded by a pre-recorded introduction by filmmaker Martin Scorsese, and was shown as part of the Powell + Pressburger film season taking place from October to December across venues in Folkestone.  Find out more at PPFolkestone.co.uk.
