The film was screened from a new 35mm print prepared for Casablanca’s 70th Anniversary. Attendees were given the opportunity to walk the red carpet, before entering the screen and taking their seats to the sound of live musician Alex McNeice on his piano.
The popular event was organised by community fundraiser Tom Langlands and raised nearly £2,500 for the charity. The event included a charity prize draw, and was followed by an exclusive after show party for holders of tickets numbered 1-200. Pilgrim’s Hospices’ Nigel Donkin said at the time, “This was a fantastic way of raising funds for Pilgrims, an evening of fun and nostalgia that was superbly organised.”
