Our cinema premises license requires that we ensure the safety of children by checking proof of age for age-restricted films, similar to how a shop might ask to see ID when selling age-restricted items.
Every film we show has an age rating which may restrict who can watch it. When you visit us, we may ask to see your proof of age before we can admit you. If you are aged 13 or over, the safest and easiest way to prove this is with your digital ID.
Parental guidance. General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for children younger than 8 years.
For more information about age ratings, visit the BBFC website.
Additional age restrictions apply for children under 18 years on our balcony, and for children under 12 years attending any performance starting at or after 7pm. Children under 8 years must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+ at all times.
If you are under 21 and are visiting us to watch an age-restricted film, we may not be able to admit you unless you show proof of age.
If you are 13 or over, the safest, easiest, and quickest way to prove this is with your digital ID. It takes just minutes to create with an ID document and photo, and then you’re set up for life. Your details are encrypted in your app and only you can see them. Digital ID is now accepted at cinemas, Post Office branches, and 12,000 convenience stores across the UK.
